Consulting for Outdoor Education Programs
Outdoor spaces, as they exist today, were not designed with everyone in mind. There is so much potential in programs for meaningful experiences & self-discovery for all participants, but only if we root these programs in justice, allowing everyone to grow together towards liberation.

Workshops
Some workshops I have designed and facilitated in the past include: “Creating Affirming Spaces in the Outdoors for All Genders”, “Discrimination & Restorative Justice Practices in the Outdoors”, “Dealing with Microaggressions on Trips”, and more.
All workshops identify how building emotionally safe trips is essential to building physically safe trips, and reframing community care as risk management.
Curriculum Development
You know your students best, and sometimes it makes more sense to teach your own workshop. I am able to design, review, or edit curriculum for your program to use however you like. Past organizations have hired me to develop curricula on co-leader feedback, gender dynamics, and holistic risk management.
This can also include additional resources like handouts, presentations, and handbooks.
Strategy
With over a decade of experience in the outdoor education field, and working with over 7 organizations, I can offer strategic partnership and planning for goals you may have in relation to creating a more radically inclusive and justice-based program. This can include things like leader hiring practices, participant outreach, staffing processes, and feedback structures.
I don’t have the answers, DEI is not going to save us, and no one can be truly free under capitalism. My services are all offered sliding scale, and with the understanding that change does not happen from a one-off consulting project. That being said, I do think there are ways to create meaningful experiences that allow us to find our own motivation to keep working towards a better world for each other.
